Clear Minds Psychotherapy

Pregnancy & Postpartum Support for Moms in New Jersey

  • As a therapist for pregnant and postpartum moms, I know how precious time is so before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15 minute discovery call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here is what you can expect during this call:

    • I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy

    • I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist for moms

    • You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover

    • We’ll talk about rates, availability, etc.

If we both decide that it feels like a good fit then we will move forward with scheduling the first session and completing necessary paperwork.

  • While I am a mom myself, I am also a licensed therapist (LPC, PMH-C) and have advanced training in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) giving me a great deal of knowledge and experience to help you to the best of my ability.

I practice with empathy & compassion and will always acknowledge you as the expert of your own situation.

  • Many moms wonder this, especially when they’re used to powering through everything.

Needing support doesn’t mean you’re over-reacting, it means you’re human. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your thoughts, more emotional than usual, or just not like yourself, therapy can help you feel grounded again.

You don’t have to wait until things feel “bad enough.” Taking care of yourself is also a form of taking care of your family.

  • It’s completely normal to have concerns as a new parent, but postpartum anxiety goes beyond everyday worry.

Instead of occasional “Is my baby okay?” thoughts, postpartum anxiety shows up as constant, intrusive fears, physical tension, difficulty relaxing, and a sense of being on alert even when nothing is wrong.

If worry starts to feel overwhelming, persistent, or interferes with your sleep, mood, or daily life, it may be more than typical new-parent concern and therapy for postpartum anxiety can make a real difference.

  • Baby blues can include mood swings, tearfulness, and feeling overwhelmed during the first couple of weeks.

Postpartum depression is different. It lasts longer, feels heavier, and can make it hard to enjoy things you used to, connect with your baby, or feel like yourself.

It involves persistent sadness, irritability, loss of interest, guilt, or changes in sleep and appetite.

If these feelings stick around or start affecting your daily life, it may be postpartum depression, and therapy for postpartum depression can help you feel more like you again.

  • Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your baby with you. I know feeding happens when it happens, diapers need changing, and sometimes you just need to rock or hold them during our time together. You don’t have to apologize or worry about being “distracting.” This is a space that’s meant to work with real life, not against it, and you get to show up exactly as you are.

  • The first session is focused on getting to know you better. I’ll ask you various questions relating to your prenatal or postpartum experience and we’ll also discuss your goals for therapy.

  • 45 minute individual therapy session — $200

Like most specialty providers, Clear Minds Psychotherapy is not “in network” with any insurance plans and operates as an out‑of‑network provider.

If you have out‑of‑network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement; this is typically 60–80% per session. We can provide documentation called a “superbill” on the first of each month if you wish to submit it to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

When you call your insurance provider, ask these questions:

    • Do I have out‑of‑network benefits?

    • If so, what is my out‑of‑network deductible?

    • How much of my out‑of‑network deductible has been met this year?

    • Once I have met that deductible, what percentage will be reimbursed for a psychotherapy session?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for a psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834 for individual sessions)?

    • How do I submit super-bills for reimbursement?

    • How long does it typically take to receive reimbursement?

  • Clear Minds Psychotherapy is a fully telehealth practice, which means you can meet with me from the comfort of your home- no packing up the diaper bag, no rushing across town, and no stressing about childcare.

I work with moms across New Jersey, including West Milford, Rockaway, Chester, Morristown, Wayne and surrounding areas. As long as you’re located in NJ, we can work together virtually.
