Frequently Asked Questions

Feeling comfortable with your therapist is so important! Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15 minute discovery call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here is what you can expect during this call:
I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy
I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist
You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover
We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.
If we both decide that it feels like a good fit then we will move forward with scheduling the first session and completing necessary paperwork.

While I am a mom myself, I am also trained and certified as a perinatal mental health professional giving me a great deal of knowledge and experience to help you to the best of my ability. I practice with empathy and compassion and will always acknowledge the client as the expert of their own situation.
-
When first starting therapy, I ask that all clients commit to weekly sessions. This helps us build a strong base and work towards your goals right away.
I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.
-
The first session is focused on getting to know you better. I’ll ask you various questions relating to your prenatal or postpartum experience and we’ll also discuss your goals for therapy.

Like most specialty providers, Clear Minds Psychotherapy is not “in network” with any insurance providers and works as an “out of network” provider.
If you have out of network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement which is typically 60-80% per session.
We can provide documentation called a “superbill” to you on the first of each month, should you wish to submit it to your insurance for any potential reimbursement.
When calling your insurance provider, ask the following questions:
Do I have out of network benefits?
If so, what is my out of network deductible?
How much of my out of network deductible has been met this year?
Once I have met that deductible, what percentage will be reimbursed for a psychotherapy session?
How much will I be reimbursed for a psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834 for individual sessions)?
How do I submit “super-bills” for reimbursement?
How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?
45 minute individual therapy session- $200
